My experience with this hotel dates to September 2006. We had to change our hotel reservations from Hotel de L'Universite because of a date change and could not find another hotel that had common areas . We finally came upon Hotel St. Petersbourg. Knew nothing about it and were delighted to find a big double room (208) with a new bathroom on a side street near the Opera. Extremely clean and well maintained. A buffet breakfast was included. The staff was wonderful. Spoke English and very accommodating. Hotel used by business people and Europeans.

My experience with this hotel dates to July 2006. Staff very accommodating and polite. Most helpful with directions, etc. Location excellent for Central Paris and shopping areas. Air conditioning worked superbly. The breakfast was good. Everything in reasonable walking distance. No noise.

"We were greeted by very friendly staff whose English was commendable. Every single staff member that we encountered was friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. Fantastic location, close to Opera Garnier, Place de la Madeleine and the department stores. Excellent choice of food for buffet breakfast, large rooms with TV, minibar and telephone, etc. Large foyer and sitting area at the entrance."

"Very good hotel, located in the centre and easy-to-access. I have stayed there several times. Ask for a non-smoking room."

« I would like to congratulate the Hotel Saint-Petersbourg for the fabulous stay I had in Paris. First of all, the welcome from the reception was warm and the staff was always nice and effective. The room was spacious with a typical French charm. The breakfast is copious and of very good quality . The geographical location is exceptional and easy to access. I could also connect to Internet in my room. It was an unforgettable stay and I am planning to come back.

Hotel history

The Saint-Petersbourg Hotel was constructed in the 19th century. Its name came around because when the ballerinas from the town "Saint-Petersbourg" came to Paris to give a show at the Opera Garnier, they stayed at the hotel.

Since then the Hotel has been owned by three different families. An English family, who were the owners until 1930. This family created an English bar, used by celebrities, which was transformed into a salon and then into a meeting room. After this a Swiss family managed the hotel. In 1950, the Pouliquen family, current owner, acquired the hotel.
