Our favourite addresses:

The Opera (8, rue Scribe - 75009 Paris) The architecture combines a Baroque and a Renaissance style. "A monument to art, luxury, pleasure". The great ceremonial staircase is paved with marble, the ceiling holds many crystal chandeliers. Luxury comparable to that of Versailles. In 1964, Andre Malraux had the large ceiling covered by a painting by Marc Chagall. Paintings which evoke famous operas and ballets.

The Opéra Restaurant-excellent traditional French cuisine - 5, Place de l'Opéra.
